No games can match Smash Bros., BUT some can try. I'm making a list of all of the games that play like Super Smash Bros.
These games include official and independently made games (Super Smash Flash). I need help finding more games, so please list all you can find. Jump Super Stars Platforms: DS Graphics: 2D Gameplay: stock (or timed KO fest?), KO's are delivered by ring out or a depleted stamina bar. Wiki: Video: Description: a Japanese only released game which was the fastest selling game for the DS until Animal Crossing W.W.
Jan 28, 2018 - The newest trailer for the homebrew DS game Super Smash Bros Rumble. Download links included. Super Smash Bros. Rumble DS, 1.05MB.
There are standard moves and specials similar to Smash, and KOing opponents involves destroying their life bar, or knocking them off the stage like Smash. The game is 2-4 players (and maybe a 1p mode I haven't played most of the games on this list first hand), and each character is customizable. You have a screen on the bottom with a grid to be filled by comic-like panels that represent your character. Large panels are individual characters you can play as (only one large panel, one character, multiple panels, you can change between characters) and each character had about 3 panels for different strength forms. Medium panels act as quick assist trophies doing normally one attack to opponents.
Small panels boost stats of the character if placed correctly. Characters, 32 stages, and 75 missions. The only bad thing is that every character is from anime or manga or whatever you want to call them, then again smash bros. Is essentially anime. Anyway this is a true Smash Bros. Jump Ultimate Stars Platforms: DS Graphics: 2D Gameplay: various, main mode people play is stock (you loose lives falling off or getting the stamina knocked out of you Wiki: Video: Description: an improved version of the first game. 300 characters now (Hikaru no Go and Mr.
Fullswing don't return. Whoever they are), more stages (I don't know how many), and more gameplay mechanics than the first. Now their is also Wifi and DS download play.
There is a translated version rom here: EDIT: I just played the game fully myself, you customize your character with a deck, each deck (which is 5 by 4 blocks if i can remember) is where you put your collected komas. These are comic shapes used to fill up your customizable deck. You have character komas, support komas, and stat-boosting komas.
You have to have at least one of each to play that deck. Support komas are basically summonable assist trophys you can use though out the match, if they are allowed, for comboing and such, these range from normally 2-3 squares. Multiple allow you to have more assist guys. The support komas range from blasting opponants with kamehamehas to healing you, use them wisely. You can have multiple characters that you can switch between during the match, and you will automatically switch to the next available character should you die. More characters = more stock, loose them all and your done. These spaces range from 4-8.
And yes, there are cheap and noobish characters. Stat changing komas give bonuses to whichever character they face (you choose which character they support, and they can only do one). They range from giving you a 3rd jump, to making you immune to poison effects, and so forth. Each take up 1 space. Most people search for the ultimate deck, but many decks can be good if you know how to use them well.
Online is easy, you generally get hooked up to japan, and its very similar to hooking up in brawl, minus the waiting room. Matches online are typically set to stock, no support komas.
You unlock each and every koma through 1player mode, i cheated to get all the characters at the beginning, cause i don't feel like playing 100 matches as luffy and naruto. There is no% bar that makes people fly farther as the game progresses, but a devestating attack will send you considerably off of the side, which are walled until broken by the way.
Switching characters and activating support komas is done by tapping on their komas with the stylus, also you need to set a leader character to start off as, and you can set shortcuts so that character switching or koma activating is done by L or R.phew! Card Saga Wars/M.U.G.E.N Platforms: PC (Card Saga Wars not out yet) Graphics: 2D Gameplay: Stamina Site(Card Sagas Wars): Wiki(Mugen): Video: Description: These game is not at all like the gameplay to smash in terms of genre. However, they are both very large cross-over games. Mugen has a standard fighting engine, but people could create their own characters for fighting.
